Printing from a College-managed computer
If your computer is a College-managed Apple device
Mac users are advised to use our Mobility Print system (either via a web browser, or direct).
If your computer is a College-managed Windows device
Please note that printers are set to the following defaults.
- A4
- Plain paper
- Mono (black and white)
- Duplex (back-to-back)
These settings can be altered at the point of printing, under Printing Preferences.
Jobs using alternative paper sizes and media need to print to the bypass tray, and must be manually processed at the printer. Please do this quickly as other print jobs will queue while waiting for yours to finish.
Printer locations and features
You must be connected to the College network (via VPN, Ethernet or Nuffield-NET wifi) to access the shared printers.

Adding a printer
You can connect to networked printers by searching for Printers & Scanners in your System settings.
- Choose a printer listed, and Add device.
- Alternatively, select The printer that I want isn't listed - Add manually.
- If you need to search for the printer, under Select a shared printer by name, start typing \\nuff-print.nuff.ox.ac.uk\ and a list of printers will present themselves.
Select the printer then Next, and the driver will be installed. - The final screen allows you to print a test page. You can also set this new printer as your default (if desired).
