Please contact IT@Nuffield if you have a personal printer and you wish to print to it wirelessly.

Printing to the College shared printers

From your personal device, and from College-managed Apple devices.

You must be connected to the College network (via VPN, Ethernet or Nuffield-NET wifi) to access shared printers from a computer which is not managed by Nuffield IT.

I desperately need to print right now!

If you need to print urgently and don't have the time to set up the convenient print drivers (see below), you should be able to send a PDF file to a printer using your web browser.

  • Create a PDF of what you want to print
(Usually 'print to PDF' or 'Save As PDF' in whichever application you are using.)
N.B. bmp, dib, gif, jfif, jif, jpe, jpeg, jpg, png, tif, tiff file types are also accepted
  • Go to the web print interface.
Sign in with your College username (firstname.lastname) and password.
  • Select the printer listed (with the appropriate colour and duplex options)
  • Continue (see button at the bottom of the screen) to continue to select the number of copies and then to upload your file and print.

Setting up convenient print drivers

In order to print from your Android, iOS, Apple or Windows device while on the College Network (via VPN, Ethernet or Nuffield-NET wifi) you can access the following shared printers after installing the Mobility Print drivers:

Printer Paper size Colour or Mono? Where?
D12 Colour A4 and A3 Colour and Greyscale 1st floor, D staircase
GSM3 Mono A4 Greyscale 2nd floor, 3 G St Mews
GSM5 Mono A4 Greyscale 1st floor, 5 G St Mews
Library Colour A4 and A3 Colour and Greyscale Library office
Library Reading Room Colour A4 and A3 Colour and Greyscale Library 2nd floor
Lodge Colour A4 and A3 Colour and Greyscale Lodge

All printers will print double sided (duplex) or single sided. See the Layout (Print on Both Sides) options.

Feel free to install drivers for every printer, even if you tend to use a favourite (default) printer almost all the time.  (macOS users may find that all printers are installed.  For Windows you can choose which ones you want to install.)

You will require administrator rights over your device to install the drivers.  (This is often a matter of confirming your username and password to the device, but you may have a separate administrator account to use, depending on your security.)

Please note that the print driver that is installed is a very generic one.  Therefore, if you install a Mono driver (e.g. for a printer that is only able to print in greyscale), the option to print in colour may be visible.  This will not work.  It will print in Mono. The single-sided/duplex options should operate as you would expect.

With the above guidance in mind, please go to the Mobility Print setup page to download the installer and follow the instructions.

At the end you will be asked to log in to complete the installation.  Use your Nuffield College username and password.

To add further printers, download the latest installer and repeat the process above.
