Updating the College Password of an Offsite, Managed Desktop or Notebook
The Nuffield password of any College managed machine, not permanently connected to its network, can become out of sync once you have changed it (via another onsite device, or over the intranet). It must be on the College network for a successful update of the device password, either over VPN or an onsite Ethernet connection.
If you're unable to log into your offsite machine after a password change, please do the following:

Windows
- Log into the machine with your old password
- Ensure that first, a network (e.g. WiFi) and then a VPN connection has been established.
- Check whether the Global Protect VPN is running and connected by looking in your SysTray (near the date/time - "show hidden icons") for the GlobalProtect VPN
- Check whether the Global Protect VPN is running and connected by looking in your SysTray (near the date/time - "show hidden icons") for the GlobalProtect VPN
- Lock the machine (Ctrl+Alt+Delete or WinKey-L) then, when unlocking, you should be able to enter your new password
- Restart your machine

MacBooks only:
- Log into the machine with your old password
- Establish a VPN connection with your new password
- Lock the machine (Control+Shift+Power) then, when unlocking you should be able to enter your new password
- Restart your machine.
Or
- From the Apple Menu in the top Left, select System Preferences then Security:
- Click 'Change Password'
- Enter your old password, then your new password (twice)
- Click 'Change Password' to save
- Enter your new password again
- Close System Preferences and click OK on the KeyChain notification
- Restart your device
