Connecting to your College drives using Windows 10

Please contact it@nuffield.ox.ac.uk if you need to confirm your direct, unique server path.

  1. Ensure - unless you are on site and connected to the network via Ethernet - that you have the VPN set up and running.
  2. In the search box type File Explorer (or go to the folder icon in your system tray).
a - select This PC (listed in the left hand panel)
b - then the Computer tab (in the top ribbon)
c - then Map Network Drive

  3. Choose any available letter from the drop down list. 'J' is used on Nuffield servers for your personal network drive.

  4. In the Folder box type: \\nuff-frankel.nuff.ox.ac.uk\ suffixed by your unique folder name.

3a. If you wish to access the College 'H' drive, please instead type \\nuff.ox.ac.uk\nuffieldnetwork\
This will give you access to Publicspace, plus any Teamspace folders you have security permissions for.

  5. Click Connect using different credentials. For College provided devices, please skip step 4.

  6. If you would like to retain the mapped drive, so that it appears the next time you log onto your computer, select the Reconnect at logon box. Your settings should look similar to this example (but with your unique folder).

  7. Click Finish and you will be prompted for your Nuffield username and password.
This should be entered in the format firstname.lastname@nuff.ox.ac.uk.
Tick 'Remember my credentials' if preferred, then click OK.

If you open This PC you should now be able to see your network drive.
