Connecting to a Remote Desktop Server from a Windows PC
If you are not connected to the College Ethernet, please first establish a VPN connection
1. Click on your Start icon and open '(Microsoft) Remote Desktop App' (found under your available programs or App tiles).
If you do not have it already, you can download this from the Microsoft Store (also listed under your programs).
2. Click 'Add', then 'Add a PC/Desktop'
3. Please complete the settings as follows:
- PC name = nuff-eigg.nuff.ox.ac.uk (for the Academic Remote Desktop server) or nuff-compute.nuff.ox.ac.uk (for the Compute server)
- User account = your Nuffield username e.g. john.smith@nuff.ox.ac.uk (you do not need to save your password), then Save
4. You will have these settings saved in your Remote Desktop App.
They can be edited, if required, using the ... icon.
5. You can now connect to by simply clicking the above nuff-eigg tile.
Note, please trust the connection and verify the remote PC, if prompted.
Once connected to your session, you can change to Full screen, or Disconnect, using the 6. view_disconnect at the top middle of your display.
Disconnection will leave your session running.
To Sign Out of your session, select your Profile icon (top left of your display).
This will close all programs and files you have been running.
